Lawmakers get a pay raise

The salary commission for the Norwegian Parliament has proposed raises for lawmakers that are below what state employees received after this year’s pay negotiations. The prime minister’s raise, like the others’, will amount to 3.7 percent.

That means Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg will now earn NOK 1,366,200 (USD 248,000) a year, while other cabinet ministers will see their pay rise from NOK 1,071,600 to NOK 1,111,200.

Members of Parliament will receive NOK 750,900, up from NOK 724,100, reports news bureau NTB.
