Relative charged over man’s death

A body found in Skogbygda, Nes on Wednesday night was confirmed on Friday as missing man Frank André Gundersen. Police believe the 31-year-old was murdered and have charged two men over his death, one of whom was related to Gundersen.

Gundersen was last seen in Skogbygda during the first week of May, reported news bureau NTB. The man from Vesterålen was visiting a family member when he disappeared.

Police arrested two men, aged 29 and 27, and the pair were charged with murder or being an accessory to murder. They denied guilt, and were remanded in custody for four weeks.

Police did not disclose the cause of death. “I can confirm that it is Frank André Gundersen who was found in Skogbygda on Wednesday,” said Romerike police district lawyer Haris Hrenovica. “I do not want to go into detail about that condition the body was found in. We must conduct more analyses to be able to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.”
