Thieves target luxury Oslo store

Police were on the hunt for two people in a silver Mercedes after a break-in at the Gucci store in downtown Oslo in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The pair threw a pallet through the store window, but it was unclear exactly what they took.

Police were alerted of the burglary around 2:15am, reported Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) and news bureau NTB. The shop is in a line of luxury designer stores along Nedre Slottsgate street, behind the Parliament buildings.

Surveillance footage showed two men dressed in dark clothing and caps. Tor Gullbrandsen of the Oslo police said they probably got away with “high values” of merchandise, but we don’t have details about what and how much was taken.”

Witnesses reported the Mercedes E-class had the registration plate DP 15195, which police said was probably fake. They said the car may have been damaged in the robbery. Hedmark district police later spotted the car on the road towards Sweden.
