The Arctic Race of Norway ended Sunday without even Norwegian star cyclist Alexander Kristoff on the overall winners’ podium. Rein Taaramäe of Estonia won the four-day race, with Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen coming in fourth.
The race was nonetheless viewed as a success, thanks to mostly good weather and spectacular scenery along the way. Now attention was turning to Kristoff’s and Hagen’s chances in the upcoming World Championships in Richmond, Virginia from September 19-27.
Kristoff will be the undisputed captain of the Norwegian team, with the best results so far this season. Hagen has earlier said that it would be natural that the Norwegian cyclists pedal for him.
