Weather forecasters were warning of heavy rainfall over most of southeastern Norway beginning Thursday afternoon, as a major low pressure system was moving in from Sweden.
State meteorologist Ingrid Bentsen predicted torrential rains, especially south of Lillehammer, and the weekend weather was likely to be wet as well.
She said the rainfall would let up a bit on Friday, and Saturday morning might be clear, but the rain likely would return over Oslo, Østfold County and Hedmark Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
The rain was expected to move northwards as well, and flood warnings were posted in some parts of eastern and southern Norway.
Temperatures were forecast to range from as low as 13C on Thursday to 22C on Saturday.
