The Corona crisis has cancelled Oslo’s traditional Pride Parade, like so many other events, but “Oslo Pride 2020” still launched over the weekend in digital form. On offer are various speeches, panel discussions and entertainment all week long.
Topics include the history of Pride events, how and why they’re relevant in connection with current events, and links to the ongong “Black Lives Matter” movement that’s been sweeping to globe in recent weeks.
Many Oslo residents will likely miss the large and colourful parade next weekend that has climaxed Oslo Pride week for years, and attracted tens of thousands from all over Europe and beyond. Adam Schjølberg will still be program leader for a live digital parade show next Saturday afternoon, June 27, from 1-4pm. See www.oslopride.no (external link, in Norwegian).
