None of Norway’s biathlon athletes earned a spot on the winners’ podium after events at the Biathlon World Championships resumed at Holmenkollen in Oslo on Wednesday. French skiers and shooters grabbed the two top spots, while the Norwegian men faced a new chance on Thursday.
Wednesday’s event involved a 15-kilometer race for women with four pauses for shooting. The same “normal program” was scheduled for the men on Thursday, with a 20 kilometer race.
Marie Dorin Habert of France won the gold medal on Wednesday, with her French teammate Anais Bescond winning the silver. Laura Dahlmeier of German placed third to take the bronze. Norway’s biathlon athletes including Tiril Eckhoff, who won a gold medal last weekend, shot poorly and placed as low as 73rd. Eckhoff was in 43rd place, right after Marte Olsbu.
