Models for a total of 19 Norwegian fashion designers were ready to strut their stuff at the latest Oslo Runway, opening on Wednesday at the new Sentralen venue in downtown Oslo. The event has become the new showplace for Norway’s own clothing industry.
Oslo Runway aims to fill the gap left since Oslo Fashion Week ended its run. Many Norwegian designers started showing their wares at events in Copenhagen instead, until Oslo Runway debuted last year.
“As long as we manage to create a serious and professional showplace, which gets attention from both the Norwegian and foreign fashion press, and where buyers are present, this will remain an important arena,” Ditte Kristensen, a promoter behind the event, told newspaper Dagsavisen.
Designers participating include Cathrine Hammel, Admir Batlak, Christina Ledang and Moods of Norway. Showings run through Friday with extra events during the weekend.
