Toyota is the best-selling car dealer in Norway and consistently ranks high in consumer satisfaction surveys. It’s nonetheless having to carry out another major recall because of airbag problems.
Of the roughly 5.8 million cars being recalled worldwide, around 20,000 are in Norway. The include Toyota Yaris models produced between May 2000 and November 2001 and between April 2006 and December 2014. The Japanese automaker is also recalling its Hilux and Auris models.
“The cars have a potential error and we want to ward it off,” Espen Olsen, information chief for Toyota Norge told news service E24. “We’re doing what we can to call in the cars as quickly as we have parts available. We’ll cover the costs for the customers.”
