As Norway headed into the Midsummer weekend, the lightest time of the year, we were busy on projects to further light up newsinenglish.no. It’s time to make some more technical improvements, four years after our launch in 2009.
Last year, the sheer traffic growth of our site made it necessary to invest in a new, much more powerful server. Now we want to update our format, to streamline the site and improve its functionality.
Our technical expert will need to take the site down for a while during the next few days, to work his maintenance magic. And then we’ll need to do some “tweaking” to get our new front page in place.
Soon we hope to have a new newsinenglish.no ready for action again. Please bear with us if there are some technical glitches or delays. These sorts of ventures can entail unforeseen challenges but we’ll tackle them as best we can.
We also plan to start offering subscriptions that will allow you to maintain full access to all our content, and allow us to keep providing it. And as the sun turns and we head back into shorter days, we’ll do our best to keep enlightening you about Norway in both the light and dark times of the year.
As the Norwegians would say, “god sommer!” Happy summer!
