Hotels in Bergen are still the most expensive in Norway, according to a recent hotel price index published by large online hotel booking website Hotels.com.
It’s the third year in a row that average hotel rates in Bergen exceed those in other Norwegian cities including the capital of Oslo.
“Bergen’s position as the number-one tourist destination in Norway is still strong,” said Alison Couper of Hotels.com. That allows hotel operators to charge higher rates in Bergen, where the average price of a hotel room is now NOK 1,219 (USD 220) per night.
Room rates on a national basis declined around 1 percent in Norway last year, according to Hotels.com, and now average around NOK 1,084.
