Wikborg Rein already ranks as Norway’s largest law firm, with offices also in London, Shanghai, Singapore and Kobe. Now the firm wants to further expand outside Norway, where growth potential is higher.
Wikborg Rein surpassed law firm Thommessen in terms of annual revenues two years ago, and last year it generated around NOK 790 million, reports newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN). Around a quarter of the annual revenues now comes from Wikborg Rein’s foreign offices, and another is in the planning stages.
Managing partner Geir H Sviggum, who recently returned to Oslo after five years in the firm’s Shanghai office, told DN that Wikborg Rein now wants to open a new office in Beijing. The firm’s fastest-growing offices are the ones in London and Shanghai, where most of the clients are tied to energy and shipping operations.
