Four-year-old sleepwalked for more than four kilometers

Norwegians are known as great walkers, but a little girl in Northern Norway seems to have set a new record. Four-year-old old Thea Leinan Robertsen got out of bed, put on her boots and proceeded to walk more than four kilometers from her aunt’s home near Honningsvåg to the next town down the coast.

It was only around six degrees Celsius and Thea didn’t think in her sleep to put on more clothes, only her boots, which she jokingly said later must have had propellers under them.

Her perplexed aunt, who was minding Thea while her mother was out traveling, noted that Thea has been known to walk in her sleep on earlier occasions but never out of the house. “We’re going to have to secure the doors better,” she said after police returned the girl home.

She’d been found sitting on the porch of a house in Honningsvåg, still sound asleep. Thea was reportedly in fine spirits, “just a little tired,” her aunt told state broadcaster NRK.
