Christopher W Davidsen got another taste of success when he won the silver medal in the European Championships this week and qualified to compete at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or in Lyon, France next year. He’s the latest in a string of Norwegian chefs to achieve such international recognition.
Chefs from 20 countries took part in the European Championships held in Budapest this week. Davidsen was beaten only by host country Hungary, while Sweden placed third.
Their assignment was to prepare and present one meat dish and one fish dish for 14 people. The top 11 winners will face off against chefs from all over the world at Boduce d’Or.
Davidsen also pocketed a prize of EUR 9,000 in connection with his second-place finish. He hails from Stavanger and works as kitchen chef for three restaurants in Trondheim including the popular Kalas & Canasta.
