Legendary US singer Paul Simon took a holiday voyage on board one of Norway’s famed Hurtigruten coastal vessels last week, the Trollfjord. The crew ended up serenading him on his last night on board on Friday.
“It was an honour to have Paul Simon on board,” wrote Hurtigruten officials on the vessel’s own Facebook page. “We can now post the pictures.” (external link)
The vessel also posted a short video of the crew singing a few lines from Simon & Garfunkel’s classic Bridge over troubled water, and Simon joking that it was the “best version” he had heard.
The crew wished him welcome back on board, while dozens of fellow passengers and Hurtigruten fans posted comments about how “cool” it all was. Others noted that it was nice to see the captain and his crew in dress uniform.
