Norway’s national football (soccer) squad won its first match of the year on Wednesday, by a score of 1-0 against Slovakia.
Erik Huseklepp, who plays professionally for Brann in Bergen, won praise for setting up the winning goal that was kicked in by Morten Moldskred.
“He (Huseklepp) was very good, movement-wise, good without the ball, willing to start, and creative,” coach Egil “Drillo” Olsen told newspaper Aftenposten.
Huseklepp was happy to hear that, adding that he has some talents the squad can use in the run-up to European Cup qualification. Wednesday’s match in Zilina was a training match.
Drillo said his players had a good first half, but lost some of their force after the break. “It was a bit of luck that we won,” Drillo added.
