Damaged ship towed to Bergen

Police and fire officials planned to examine a German cruiseship that was towed to Bergen after fire broke out in its engine room over the weekend.

No passengers or crew were injured in the fire on board the vessel Deutschland on Sunday, reports news bureau NTB. Around 600 passengers and crew were flown back to Germany after the cruise was interrupted.

The ship (PicApp photo) was sailing in the fjords of western Norway and had to be towed from Eidfjord to Bergen, reported Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK), after the vessel was evacuated.

Officials for the cruise line, Peter Deilmann Cruises, reportedly were canceling upcoming cruises on board the Deutschland, a relatively small vessel in the high-end line of cruising.
