The Norwegian capital’s main airport, Oslo Lufthavn (OSL) Gardermoen, has been ranked as the most efficient in Europe. The airport also won a prize for its increasing share of international traffic.
The academic forum Air Transport Research Society compared 129 airports around the world and chose winners in various categories, reports news bureau NTB.
Copenhagen’s airport had topped the list over efficiency measured in terms of total flights and passengers handled per employee, but now Oslo has taken over the top spot.
Nic Nilsen, managing director at OSL, claimed the ranking was “clear proof” that the airport is functioning well for everyone, and that this has been acknowledged internationally.
