A-ha photos go on display

Norwegian photographer Stian Andersen is mounting an exhibit of “inside” photos he took of Norway’s most internationally popular rock band a-ha and the people around them during their successful career. Andersen will also release a book on the band in mid-September.

The exhibit was due to open Thursday at the Oslo gallery Stolper + Friends at Tjuvholmen, which is co-owned by former band member Magne Furuholmen. It’s due to run until September 16 and features 19 photos of the a-ha trio that also includes Morten Harket and Pål Waaktaar-Savoy.

Furuholmen, meanwhile, has been exhibiting some of his own work at the museum Blåfarveverket in Modum, about an hour’s drive west of Oslo. Furuholmen went on to concentrate on an art career after the band retired and is displaying graphics and ceramics at the museum at Nyfossum.
