Norwegian swimmer Sarah Louise Rung won her second silver medal for Norway at the Paralympics in London on Tuesday. It’s the fourth medal in total for Norwegians taking part in the international competition for physically challenged athletes that follows the Olympics.
Rung had hoped to honor the memory of the late Norwegian champion swimmer Alexander Dale Oen on Tuesday by winning another gold medal. Rung had been working out at the same training camp in Flagstaff, Arizona as Dale Oen was when he suffered a fatal heart attack last spring.
She had to settle for silver in the 100-meter breaststroke which was won by Natalia Prologaleva of the Ukraine. Rung has thus claimed three medals for Norway, including one in gold. Tommy Urhaug also won a gold medal over the weekend in table tennis.
