Ticket sales strong for ‘Festspillene’ in Bergen

Ticket sales for Festspillene (Bergen International Festival) have been record-breaking compared to last year’s sales figures. Within just the first four days, 24,551 tickets were sold. Last year’s sales figures for the same time frame were 23,836.

“It’s great that there has been so much competition for festival tickets and that we’ve been sold out for some concerts and performances. This shows that our program has expanded,” said Festival Director Anders Beyer.

Many arrangements sold out quickly, including Leif Ove Andsnes’ opening performance in Grieghallen and an arrangement by the Russian activist group Puppy Riot.

The crown prince and princess attended the festival opening in Bergen last week.
