Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit took part in the latest ceremony to honour new Norwegian citizens over the weekend. The ceremony, held as usual at Oslo’s City Hall, formally welcomed 399 people who’ve recently been granted citizenship.
It also attracted hundreds of families and friends of the new citizens, all of whom were welcomed in the presence of county government Valgerd Svarstad Haugland and city officials.
The ceremony was for new citizens living in Oslo and Akershus. News bureau NTB reported that they represented people from 76 different countries around the world.
