Norway’s national ice hockey team left the World Championships in the Czech Republic this week with five losses and only two wins. Since they did manage to at least qualify for World Championship action again, they could only hope for better luck next time.
The final match on Tuesday against Belarus ended with a score of 3-2 in Belarus’ favour. Norwegian players spent a lot of time in the penalty box, just like they did at several of the other matches they’d played against some of the world’s best teams, including Finland, Russia and the US.
The victory for Belarus’ players propelled them into the quarter-finals. The tournament continues for all the other survivors through the next week.
