A narrow victory over Montenegro Wednesday night cleared the way for Norway’s women’s handball team to now compete for medals at the World Championships in Denmark. The Norwegians beat Montenegro by a score of 26-25.
Norway’s first half did not go well, according to critical sports commentators, but the team affectionately known as the “handball girls” turned things around in the second half, with Nora Mørk scoring seven times. Silje Solberg was said to have saved the team by saving a penalty toss.
The team was due to face Romania on Friday night, with the finals on Sunday.
