Norway’s King Harald V joined leaders around the world in sending messages of condolence to the people of Spain, following Thursday’s terrorist attack in Barcelona. The Norwegian government also sent its sympathy shortly after at least 13 people were killed when a van believed to have been driven by a teenage Muslim ran them down.
“I was deeply saddened by the tragic news of the terror attack in Barcelona, resulting in the loss of so many lives and inflicting such dreadful injuries,” King Harald wrote in a message to the king of Spain that was released by the Royal Palace in Oslo on Friday.
“I extend my condolences and ask you to convey the deepest sympathy of the Norwegian people to the bereaved failies and to those who are injured.”
