The Oslo area and much of Southern Norway was basking in warm sunshine again on Tuesday afternoon but it isn’t likely to last too long. State meteorologists linked the warm weather to the remnants of a tropical storm in the Atlantic called “Helene.”
Thermometers were well over 20C, adding to the record already set for official summer days of 20 or higher this year. Oslo was warmest, with some thermometers hitting 24C, but other areas also reported 20 or higher.
The weather was supposed to “return to normal” for this time of year on Wednesday. The West Coast was due for lots of wind and rain while southeastern Norway was expected to retain mostly fair weather until Thursday, when temperatures would drop to around 15C.
