Norway’s gourmet restaurants will have to wait until May to find out which ones have won a star (or two or three) in the much-hyped Michelin Guide this year. Like most everything else postponed or cancelled, the Corona pandemic is to blame.
News bureau NTB reports that this year’s event was scheduled to be held on February 8 in Stavanger. Last year’s event involving restaurants in the Nordic area was held in Trondheim, which has three restaurants with Michelin stars. Norway also has Michelin-starred restaurants in Stavanger, Bergen, Oslo and Lindesnes.
Government-imposed measures to contain Corona virus infection have, however, hit all restaurants hard and most are currently closed.
