Police in both Norway and Denmark have now seized a total of 2.9 tons of hash as part of their ongoing investigation into organized smuggling of cannabis that’s been distributed by gangs in Oslo.
Police announced late last month that they’d seized up to 700 kilos of cannabis at various locations in Southern Norway. Now another huge seizure in Denmark can be tied to the narcotics network revealed in Norway.
“We see a clear connection with the seizure of 2.2 tons of hash in Denmark to what we presented in Oslo,” Eivind Borge, leader of tactical investigations at state police unit Kripos, told newspaper Aftenposten. The Oslo-based investigation has been dubbed “Operation Hubris.”
Borge said police in Denmark have worked with Norwegian police, with a total of 10 people now under arrest.
