Two Norwegians and a Swede started fighting on board a flight from Oslo to Cyprus during the weekend, leading the captain to land in Copenhagen to get help from Danish police.
All three men, at least one of whom was intoxicated, were taken into custody, reported wire service AFP and The Local (external link) of Sweden. The Swedish fiancé of one of the men also left the aircraft.
The cause of the fight on board the Norwegian Air flight from Oslo to Larnaca was unclear, with one of the police officers telling AFP that they needed to wait for the men to sober up before they could be questioned or released.
It’s not the first time drunken Norwegians have forced the landings of flights, because of aggressive behaviour. Some have been banned from flying in the future on the airlines involved.
