A group of students in Northern Norway had a lucky escape after their school bus caught fire Tuesday morning in Nordreisa, Troms County.
Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reported that as many as 20 primary- to high school-aged students had to leap from the emergency exit windows after the driver realized something was wrong, and stopped the bus.
Troms Police reported that everyone escaped unharmed before the bus was engulfed in flames.
Witness and school employee Åshild K Blixgård told NRK some of her students were on board the bus. “They will get help from health professionals and school staff after this traumatic incident,” she says.
