Technical trouble rams Norwegian Air at OSL

Problems with Norwegian Air’s automated check-in machines at Oslo’s main airport at Gardermoen were causing long lines and lengthy delays for passengers on Thursday morning. Everyone checking bags had to do it manually, and wait in line for up to an hour.

“There are considerable queues when many passenger have to check in manually,” airport spokesman Joachim Wester Andersen told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK). “We are recommending that all Norwegian passengers arrive at the airport extra early.”

It remained unclear what was wrong with Norwegian’s check-in machines, “but we’re working hard to find out as quickly as possible. We don’t know how long it will take.”

Heavy fog at the airport was also delaying flights at Gardermoen. “That’s not the biggest problem right now, though,” Andersen said. “Normally it lets up in the course of the morning.”
