Norway’s large telecommunications company Telenor sent out a warning this week against opening an email that appears to have been sent by Telenor. Instead, claims Telenor, it’s sent by “swindlers” who will try to extort money from the email’s recipients.
The mail has been sent as a fraudulent “Telenor ePostfaktura” and appears to be genuine, using Telenor’s logo and corporate format. It’s not, and Telenor also warned that opening the mail or clicking on its links could damage recipients’ computers.
“Delete it, or mark it as spam,” Telenor wrote in a Twitter message on Tuesday.
