Currency traders pushed Norway’s krone on Tuesday up to its strongest level against the euro since early summer. The krone also strengthened against the US dollar, likely fueled by higher oil prices.
One euro cost NOK 10.87 Tuesday afternoon, making conversion the cheapest since the beginning of June. One US dollar cost NOK 9.31 late Tuesday afternoon, compared to as much as NOK 11 in recent years.
The Norwegian krone initially gained strength in early June but weakened again just before the summer holidays, and by late June a euro cost NOK 11.34. The Norwegian krone remained mostly on par with the Swedish Tuesday evening, at NOK 0.98 to SEK 1.
