Tourist’s body recovered at waterfall

The body of a dead German tourist in his 60s was found and removed from the area around the high waterfall known as Muldalsfossen in the county of Møre og Romsdal. Police believe he slipped off a trail near a bridge at the top of the waterfall, and plunged to his death.

Emergency crews had searched for the man since Sunday, when he disappeared during a visit to the waterfall. The body found was not immediately identfied but police believe it is the German who fell into the waterfall on Sunday.

Muldalsfossen is one of the highest waterfalls in Sunnmøre. There also have been fatal accidents at other Norwegian waterfalls, when tourists often taking photos don’t watch where they’re stepping.
