Norwegian police are investigating yet another drone observation, this time over the Sleipner oil field in the North Sea. It’s the latest in a string of other drone sightings that are posing a threat to national security.
“We’re working to analyze the information that’s come in,” prosecutor Øyvind Bore told state broadcaster NRK. State oil company Equinor had alerted police Monday evening that staff on board the Sleipner A platform had seen “something that resembled a drone” hovering over the production- and residential portion of the offshore oil installtion.
Norway’s defense operative headquarters were also oriented on Tuesday about the incident but have no active role in the investigation.
