Norwegian media have reported another false claim by the American millionaire and presidential candidate Donald Trump during his highly publicized “conversation” with tycoon Elon Musk. Trump claimed that Norwegian schools rank higher than American schools, but he was wrong.
Newspapers including Aftenposten and Dagens Næringsliv (DN) reported how Trump, known for making rash statements, claimed that Norway, Switzerland and Sweden scored high in school rankings, while the US was at the bottom of 40 countries.
Not true, according to the most recent PISA rankings, which are based on internationally acclaimed surveys of test results. Norway ended up worse than the USA, reported Aftenposten, while Finland routinely tests among the best.
