As many as five cars were set on fire Saturday, reported police in Oslo. A burning car at Kampen on Oslo’s east side around 5pm had been preceded by fires earlier in the day both at Kampen and nearby Grünerløkka.
The fire early Saturday evening was the fourth in Oslo in less than 24 hours. It was extinguished within a half-hour and the car was towed in to a police garage for examination.
At around 2:30pm, police had also been called to another fire at Kampen. A red Audi was engulfed with flames when emergency crews arrived. Initial technical examination suggested it was arson. A silver-grey Mercedes parked next to the car was also damaged.
Three other cars burned during the night and police not surprisingly suspected a connection between all the car fires.
