Police in Oslo were searching for at least four people who were seen torching around seven vehicles in the Haugerud neighbourhood on the city’s east side during the night. Three other cars parked on Lutvannsveien, a street that’s around a half-hour’s walk away, were set on fire earlier in the night.
“We see a connection between these two incidents since it’s not far between them,” police operations leader Tor Grøttum told state broadcaster NRK on Sunday. “There were a few hours between the two, but we’re not ruling out a connection.”
They’re the latest in a string of car fires in Oslo recently. “We have some suspects,” Grøttum said. “There will be a thorough investigation of a few candidates and others who’ve been arrested for this earlier.”
