Police in Oslo have arrested two teenagers after the latest robbery of a man in his 60s. He was heading home through the Frogner Park around midnight Tuesday night when he was attacked by a group of as many as five teenage boys near the park’s famed Monolith.
“He sustained cuts in his face and was hit with clubs,” Tor Jøkling, operations leader for the Oslo Police District, told news bureau NTB. “In addition he was robbed of his mobile phone and cash.”
Several other men out walking late at night during Oslo’s julebord (holiday party) season have been beaten and robbed as well in recent weeks. In this case the man made it home, and his wife called police.
The two teenagers were arrested at two different locations on Oslo’s northeast side. It’s unclear what led to their arrests. The culprits have been described as young men with Asian background, wearing hooded jackets.
